Built on top of the hill of the town of Villandry (37), this beautiful building from the nineteenth century made of tufa, the material of excellence castles builders, was throughout its history, property of the Religious of the Tours Overview as a rest house for ladies and ladies. It shall bear the names of "Saint Edward Island" and "Le Coteau", well known to all Colombiens (inhabitants of Villandry).
In 2010, when neglected, Nathalie and Pascal Mercier, Villandry resident for over 20 years, decided to revive this great house transforming it into a hotel, in a tourist area in which such offer was particularly default. A big challenge that will last almost 4 years, sketches the plans, constraints standards, requiring full replacement delivery to give birth to a hotel *** 1,200 m2 in a park that has recovered its serenity tunes to well-being and pride of ancient trees.
Located in Villandry, just 400 metres from the castle, Hôtel Le Haut des Lys offers a large garden with a hot tub and communal terrace. The Loire River is only a 5-minute drive away and Tours is 18 km from the property.
